Photographer and
Outdoor Enthusiast.

When I’m not pushing pixels or pulling my hair out, I enjoy getting out and exploring. Photography to me is about capturing the beauty we’re surrounded by in this world that we take for granted. Similarly to how I feel about design, it brings me great joy to take something I saw and bring it to life. I enjoy capturing landscapes, street, abandoned, and occasionally portraits.

I’m lucky that I also happen to love the outdoors as it compliments my passion for photography. I like to go camping, hiking, and boating whenever I can. Getting out and being active is important to me and there’s no better way to do it than through nature. Waking up to the view of a blue sky, branches and leaves in my periphery, and a full day ahead is one life’s greatest pleasures.

Gaming fanatic.
Honerable nerd.

There, I said it, the notorious g word. But I’m not like those other gamers – I’ve got class and ambition. I’ve played a lot of games, but my  all-time favorite is Super Smash Bros. Melee. I enjoy playing competitively and entering tournaments. The game has a rich scene and is one of the biggest e-sports in the world. Playing it pushes my creativity and my ability to cope with stress. Melee allows me to constantly improve and see the fruits of my effort in a way few games or even activities in general can offer.

What I'm listening
to these days.

I listen to everything except for country…okay maybe that’s not completely accurate but I do try to keep an open mind about music. I grew up playing the violin and piano in a very musical household, which has instilled a lifelong love for music. I’m constantly listening to something in my day-to-day. In 2019 I averaged 44 tracks per day and I’m on pace to almost double that number in 2020. Come check me out on last.fm if you’d like to get a better idea.

I’ve found over the years that my favorite genre of music is electronic. I love music with high quality sound design. The texture of the sound is just as important if not more important to me than the tonality of it. Outside of that, I tend to like music with some jazz inspiration to it. Improvisation and irregular patterns will definitely get me going.

My top movies
of all-time.

I like a lot of different types of film but my favorites usually have a dark edge to them, some kind of broader social or societal commentary, and an artsy touch. It’s no surprise given this criteria that David Fincher is my favorite director. As you can see here 2 of my top 5 are directed by David Fincher. Fight Club was such an inspirational film to me that I almost decided to apply to film schools out of high school.
